Haywood Regional Medical Center to Host Mental Health Awareness Lunch and Learn on May 19
May 7, 2025

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Haywood Regional Medical Center is pleased to invite community members to another free Lunch and Learn event on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center in the second-floor classroom.
The session will be led by Dan Yearick, MS, LCMHC-S, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor, and will focus on the topic: "How HRMC is Meeting Mental Health Needs of Haywood County and Beyond."
Attendees will gain valuable insights into the current mental health landscape, the challenges faced by individuals in rural communities, and the ways Haywood Regional is working to support behavioral health needs. Through such services such as crisis intervention, outpatient counseling, and collaborative care initiatives, the discussion will touch on how HRMC is working to remove stigma, promote emotional wellness, and help connect patients with the right level of care.
“Mental health is healthcare,” said LaCrystal Gordon, CNO. “This event is about raising awareness, sharing resources, and emphasizing the work being done to build a more connected and responsive support system for our community.”
A complimentary lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Pre-registration is required. To reserve your spot, please contact Lilly Ferguson at (770) 776-7291 or Lillian.Ferguson@lifepointhealth.net.
Haywood Regional Medical Center is committed to supporting the whole health of the community—mind and body—and encourages all interested individuals to attend this important discussion.
