CARDIAC REHABILITATION MEDICAL DIRECTOR
David Peterson, MD

David Peterson, MD is board-certified in cardiovascular disease with Western Carolina Cardiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, and completed his residency at ISAF Medical Center Keesler in Keesler AFB, MS. He completed his fellowship at Wilford Hall USAF MC in Lackwood AFB, TX. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association. 

PULMONARY REHABILITATION MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Scott Skibo, MD

Scott D. Skibo, MD, FCCP, completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, CT. Prior to his fellowship, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester, NY. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He has been elected a fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians. During his career, Dr. Skibo has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Instructor of Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine, and Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Skibo practices a full spectrum of Pulmonary Medicine, but has a particular focus in the area of Thoracic Oncology.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Dianne Tatham, RN

Dianne is a graduate of  Haywood Community College's nursing program class of 76'. Dianne has over 40 years of nursing experience, 34 of those years being employed by Haywood Regional. Dianne has been a member of the cardiac rehab team since 2013. Dianne has worked in the ICU, opthamologist's office, radiology and cardiac rehab. Dianne enjoys spending her free time at the lake with her children and family. 

Jamie Cavacos, RN, BSN

Jamie is a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing's RN program in 2005, and UNC Charlotte's BSN class of 2006. Originally an engineering major, Jamie has been a nurse for over a decade. She has experience working in the ICU and has worked in cardiac rehab at Haywood since 2015. Jamie is currently studying to become a Nurse Practitioner at Spring Arbor University. Jamie enjoys spending weekends with her kids and plethora of dogs. 

Robin Minick, LPCS

Robin has enjoyed living and working in Haywood and surrounding counties for more than 30 years.  For much of that time she focused on work in the non-profit world, serving women, children and families through work with REACH, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and the Region A Partnership for Children where she worked as Project Manager for state-funded early child- hood service programs in the seven western counties.  More recently, she completed a Masters of Science program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  It is in this capacity that she joins the Cardiac-Pulmonary rehab team as a Behavioral Health Clinician, focusing on the link between mind and body and offering practical strategies to manage the changes often associated with cardiac and pulmonary disease.   Robin holds a license to practice professional counseling in NC. She is licensed to provide supervision to provisionally licensed counselors seeking full credentialing. She is a nationally certified counselor as well as holding a certification in Grief Counseling. She is certified in the state as a Clinical Military Counselor.  Robin maintains a private counseling practice in Waynesville and enjoys being outside, spending time with children, grandchildren and her husband, Chris, who is a local musician.

Lauren Teague, MHS, RD, LDN, CDE

Lauren is a registered dietitian and diabetes educator.  She is also a board-certified sports dietitian.  Lauren grew up in Haywood County playing sports and has always had a passion for healthy living. This translates into the work she does today for the community.  She attended Western Carolina University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and her Master of Health Science degree.  She has been working at Haywood Regional since 2014.  She became a certified diabetes educator in May of 2015 and earned her Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics in July of 2015.

Susan Letourneau, RRT

Susan is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a graduate of Southwestern Community College's RT program class of 2004. She has worked at Haywood Regional since 2003 and has been part of the cardiac rehab team since 2005. Susan is originally from Western Carolina and enjoys spending time with her family in her free time. 

Duane Evans, RN, EMT-P

Duane is a graduate of AB tech's RN program class of 2006. Duane has over a decade of nursing experience with 15 years of emergency medicine. Duane has been member of the cardiac rehab team since 2015. In addition, to working in the cardiac rehab team Duane also works as a full time nursing supervisor at Haywood Regional Medical Center. In his free time Duane enjoys spending time with his family and hunting, hiking, and anything outdoors. 

Rebecca Ingle, RN, BSN, EMT- P

Rebecca is a graduate of Western Carolina's BSN program class of 2013 and Haywood Community College's ADN and Paramedic Program in 2006. Rebecca has over a decade of nursing experience including cardiac intensive care units and MS ICU. In addition, Rebecca has over 14 years of Emergency Medical Response and Prehospital experience.  Rebecca has been a member of the cardiac rehab team at Haywood since 2016. She enjoys spending her free with her family the lake. 

Jeannie Shaffer, RN

Jeannie is a graduate of Monroe Community College's RN program class of 1990. Jeannie has over a 25 years of nursing experience with 20 of those years being at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Jeannie is now semi-retired, however, she was previously heavily involved with the formation of the osteoporosis clinic at Haywood and previously she also was the manager of the cardiac rehab clinic. In her free time, Jeannie enjoys spending time with her dog Sully, and competing in several local tracking and agility events..
