Haywood Regional announces new Urologist – Dr. Kelly McAlvany

Haywood Regional Medical Center would like to extend a welcome to their newest provider Dr. Kelly McAlvany, Urology. McAlvany will join the medical staff on April 16, 2018.
“We are very excited to add Dr. McAlvany to our medical staff. She has impeccable training and will be the only female urologist in the area. We feel fortunate that she is bringing her expertise to Haywood Regional to serve all of western North Carolina for both male and female patients with urological issues. Dr. Steele has an excellent reputation in the community and adding Dr. McAlvany to Blue Mountain Urology just enhances an already high quality urology practice,” says Rod Harkleroad, CEO, Haywood Regional Medical Center.
McAlvany is board certified in Urology from the American Board of Urology. She received her medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Urology at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, MN. She continued her training with a fellowship in Genitourinary and Reconstructive Surgery at the Center for Reconstructive Urology with Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, TX. McAlvany is a member of the American Urological Association, Society of Genitourinary Reconstruction Surgeons, and American Urogynecological Society. McAlvany practices general urology with special interests in:

McAlvany recently moved to North Carolina from Cookeville, Tennessee where she practiced at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She is excited to join the staff of Haywood Regional and continue to treat patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. McAlvany is currently accepting new patients.
