Haywood Thoracic Surgeon’s Presentation on Medical Mission Work in Africa

Dr. Daniel Gwan-Nulla of Haywood Regional Medical Center will giving a free presentation about his medical mission work in Africa on Sunday, October 22nd, from 4:15pm – 5:30pm.  He will share the joys and challenges of performing and teaching surgery in African mission hospitals.  The new venue will be at the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center classrooms at 75 Leroy George Drive in Clyde adjacent to Haywood Regional Medical Center.  This presentation is open to the public and free of charge.

Dr. Gwan-Nulla has received national recognition for his videos on cutting edge surgical procedures. He is not only a gifted surgeon and philanthropist, but also a brilliant speaker. You will be inspired by his amazing stories and photos.

Dr. Daniel Gwan-Nulla is Board Certified in both Thoracic Surgery and General Surgery.  He performs most major and minor surgical procedures.  As a thoracic (chest) surgeon, he is a specialist in the surgical treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, esophageal reflux disease, and other diseases of the chest. 

Dr. Gwan­-Nulla also performs many vascular (blood vessel) procedures, including carotid surgery and bypass for blocked arteries.  He has a particular interest in surgical access for dialysis, including hemo and peritoneal dialysis. Dr. Gwan-Nulla attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, completed his Internship and Residency at the Milton Hershey – Penn State University Medical Center and was Chief Resident in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Gwan-Nulla resides in Haywood County with his wife, Dr. Meesha Gwan-Nulla (Internal Medicine) and their three children.  He enjoys jogging, spending time with his family and doing mission work in Africa.
