Haywood Regional Welcomes First Baby of 2019

Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is ringing in 2019 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing eight pounds and 13.2 ounces and measuring 22 inches, Essie was born to Erika and Jeffrey, Monday, Jan. 1, at 2:13 AM.
“We are so excited to meet our new baby girl!” said Erika. “The physicians, nurses and staff at Haywood Regional all helped to make this such a special and memorable experience for us, and we are so grateful for the wonderful care our family received.”
The Women’s Care Center at Haywood Regional is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. The Center offers private jet tubs, one-on-one lactation education, birthing classes, parenting classes, sleeper chairs for a loved one or birth coach, and a personalized gourmet meal after your delivery. Haywood Regional also has a Level I Nursery where we have the capability to stabilize premature or compromised newborns and prepare them for transfer to a higher level Nursery if needed. The Center is comprised of six LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) Suites, four post-surgical suites, and two designated triage rooms.
