Haywood Regional Medical Center to Host Free Lunch & Learn on Vein Health and CVI Symptoms
August 04, 2025
Haywood Regional Medical Center invites community members to attend a free Lunch & Learn on Thursday, August 28, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Board Room, located in the lower level of the Hemlock building at Haywood Community College.
The session will be led by Joshua Rudd, DO, General Surgeon with Haywood Surgical Associates, who will provide an informative discussion on vein health, the signs and symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and how vein function plays a vital role in overall wellness.
“Many individuals live with symptoms such as swelling, fatigue, or leg discomfort without realizing these could be linked to chronic venous issues,” said Dr. Rudd. “This Lunch & Learn will help attendees better understand the circulatory system, what CVI is, and what treatment options are available.”
The event is part of Haywood Regional’s monthly Lunch & Learn series, which offers free educational sessions to help inform and empower the community with tools for better health.
“We’re proud to offer opportunities for the public to learn directly from our expert providers,” said Sue Shugart, CEO of Haywood Regional Medical Center. “Dr. Rudd brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to his work, and we know this discussion will be both informative and approachable for all who attend.”
Lunch will be provided for all attendees, and there will be time for questions and open discussion following the presentation.
