Haywood Regional Medical Center to Host Lunch and Learn on Vein Health and Chronic Venous Insufficiency

May 14, 2026

Haywood Regional Medical Center invites community members to attend a free Lunch and Learn, “Healthy Veins, Healthy Life: Understanding Vein Health,” on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Haywood Community College’s Juniper Building Lecture Hall, located at 185 Freedlander Drive in Clyde.

The session, led by Joshua Rudd, DO will focus on vein health and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a common condition that occurs when veins in the legs struggle to properly return blood to the heart. Topics will include common symptoms, risk factors, prevention, treatment options, and when individuals should seek medical evaluation.

Vein conditions can impact comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life, yet many people may not recognize the early signs or understand the treatment options available. Educational events like this Lunch and Learn help increase awareness and encourage individuals to take proactive steps toward improving their vascular health.

“Providing accessible education around preventive health and chronic conditions is an important part of supporting our community,” said Sue Shugart, CEO of Haywood Regional Medical Center. “Opportunities like this allow individuals to learn more about their health, ask questions, and connect with local healthcare resources.”

The Lunch and Learn series reflects Haywood Regional Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to community wellness and health education.

The event is free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided.
