Haywood Regional Medical Center welcomes Waynesville native Sara Warren-Hill, CNM, to medical staff

Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to welcome Sara Warren-Hill, MSN, CNM, to its medical staff. Warren-Hill will begin seeing patients in September at Haywood Women’s Medical Center in Clyde and will attend deliveries at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Born at HRMC and raised in Waynesville, Warren-Hill said she entered midwifery school with the goal of eventually serving women and families in western North Carolina.

“I was exposed to the power of midwifery at a young age when my mother was pregnant with my little brother. Throughout my life, midwives have been there caring for friends, family, and for me,” Warren-Hill said. “I love building relationships and tailoring care to the individual and their personal health goals.”

Warren-Hill earned her Master of Science in Nursing in midwifery from East Carolina University, after having earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing summa cum laude from Western Carolina University and her Associate of Science in Nursing from Southwestern Community College. She is a certified nurse midwife and also holds certifications in inpatient obstetrics and waterbirth.

“Sara brings both strong clinical experience and a genuine connection to this community,” said Sue Shugart, FACHE, CPPS, chief executive officer of Haywood Regional Medical Center. “Her focus on individualized care, shared decision-making, and building relationships with patients makes her a wonderful addition to our women’s health team. We are very pleased to welcome her to our medical staff and back to Haywood County.”

Warren-Hill most recently practiced as a certified nurse midwife at Moses Cone Women & Children’s Hospital in Greensboro. Her previous experience includes labor and delivery, perinatal and newborn care, childbirth education, and out-of-hospital birth care. She also previously worked in labor and delivery and childbirth education at Harris Regional Hospital.

“I believe each person is the expert on their own body, and I bring experience and training to help them achieve their goals through shared decisions,” Warren-Hill said. “I love this community and these mountains, and I am really looking forward to growing with the practice.”

Outside of work, Warren-Hill enjoys hiking, gardening, homesteading, camping, and spending time with her family.
