Haywood Regional Medical Center Suspends Visitation Dec. 7

December 07, 2020

Haywood County is currently experiencing a rapid increase in positive cases of COVID-19, indicating unchecked community spread. Thus, with the health and safety of our patients, families, employees and community in mind, Haywood Regional Medical Center will temporarily suspend visitation to our facility effective 6:00 am on Monday, December 7, 2020. This includes inpatient visitation, inpatient and outpatient procedures and surgeries, and the ER.

HRMC will work with extended families who have special circumstance, such as critically ill or injured family members, on a case-by-case basis. One support person will be allowed for labor and delivery patients (to remain with patient in room).

Signage is being posted around the facilities notifying the community of these new restrictions and guidelines. The hospital will continue to monitor the situation closely to be able to reopen to visitors when safe to do so.

Check the hospital website for updated information and follow the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and CDC for reputable updates.
