Haywood Regional Medical Center to host “Mammo Mania” on Saturday, October 5, providing local women a weekend opportunity to get mammograms and featuring fun activities

Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce "Mammo Mania," a special breast cancer awareness event and walk-in mammography opportunity on Saturday, October 5, 2024. This community-focused event will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at HRMC's Outpatient Care Center Imaging Department, located at 581 Leroy George Dr, Clyde, on the hospital campus.

"Mammo Mania" is designed to provide women with a convenient opportunity to obtain a screening mammogram outside of traditional weekday hours. Because busy schedules can make it challenging to find time for important health screenings, this Saturday morning event aims to make mammography accessible for everyone.

Women with insurance are encouraged to bring their current insurance information for billing purposes. For those without insurance, resources and information about available options will be provided during the event. No appointment is necessary.

In addition to mammograms, "Mammo Mania" will feature pop-up shops, food trucks, and fun activities for children, making it easy for moms to bring their kids along while they take care of their health.

All community members are encouraged to attend, regardless of whether they are receiving a mammogram. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Haywood Breast Center, receive education about available services, ask questions of staff, and view new technology and modalities.
